Discharge from nipples...

Hello!

I recently stopped taking the combined pill just before Christmas as me and my partner are now ttc...

About 3/4 days ago my nipples became very sore and sensitive and hard most of the time. This has been constant and isn't going away.
This morning, when I had a shower, I noticed my boobs/nipples got extremely tingly and the white bumps around them looked very pronounced and white (the only other time I've seen them like this was when I was breastfeeding about 4.5 years ago). Anyway, for whatever reason, I gave them a squeeze and some milky-white liquid came out of them... I've checked a few times now since this morning and it's still happening.

Does anyone know if this is "normal"? Could it be a side effect of coming off the pill and my hormones being up in the air? They're so sore it hurts to even have the softest of clothes on...

TIA! 😊

Don't know if it's relevant but I'm 28 :)

You sure you aren't pregnant?

Take a pregnancy test

You sure you aren't pregnant?

I took a test today (even though I don't think I'm due on until next Tuesday - 24th as I supposedly ovulated this past Tuesday) and it was negative. Obviously didn't expect it to be positive this early anyway... So, I literally have no idea what's going on!
It's still going on so I think I'll give the doctor a call on Monday!

I had something very similar and mine turned out to be a hormonal issue. Ask if you can have a blood test to check your prolactin levels aren't high. There was absolutely no chance that I was pregnant either.

This doesn't answer your question but since I last stopped breastfeeding (over 4 years ago now) my nipples still release a thick milky coloured discharge when squeezed. I checked just now and yep, still there! I've satisfied myself that it's harmless but your your situation - ie other symptoms present - I'd def do a pregnancy test and keep monitoring how you're feeling and of course see your GP if you're at all worried or start feeling unwell

Thanks for the response! Oooh that's interesting! I do sometimes rarely get a tingling feeling in mine still (similar to what I remember it being like when I was breastfeeding) but they've never ever been this ridiculously sensitive and sore! And also never been accompanied by what looks like enlarged, white milk ducts and this discharge... I've taken a pregnancy test and it's negative so will try and get an appointment on Monday. Thank you :)

Went to the drs today... Been prescribed antibiotics just in case it's an infection of some sort. Been told to do a pregnancy test the day af is due if it doesn't come before... Blood test to check hormone levels next week and exhausting that, referral to the breast clinic.
