SORRY!!!!! Gross I know!

I often get really painful shooting pains up my bum during my period. It takes my breath away its so sore!

Tonight it actually hurts to pee or poo! The sitting position and also trying to relax to "let go" is honestly agony.

Does anyonelse get it this bad!?

Yes, it's horrendous. Now go straight through on the pill without a break and don't get it any more.

AmandaHoldensLips · 10/01/2023 23:17

I know what you mean. Like a dagger up the arse! No idea why. Weird.

Tittyfilarious81 · 10/01/2023 23:18

Javalin arse , I get it every month

Banjaxx · 10/01/2023 23:19

This can be a symptom of endometriosis, speak to your gp

TightFistedWozerk · 10/01/2023 23:21

Yep javelin arse, as pp says, a sign of endo, do consult your GP.

If it is any consolation, my JA ceased once menopause really kicked in, yay! Shrivelled ovaries v javelin arse, what fun.

NewYearNewName2023 · 10/01/2023 23:50

Oh yes, arse javelin and fanny daggers are a regular occurrence for me throughout my cycle. I feel your pain OP

GeorginaLS · 11/01/2023 00:01

Do go to your GP now. Had I known then what I know now about endo - I'd have been demanding a scan and treatment 14 years ago. As it was I got shunted around for 8 years, told I had 'mittelschmerz' , ovulation pain and took a f* of a lot of inadequate pain relief. Surgery 3 years ago improved things a bit but by then it the endo was pretty bad. I suffered exactly what you describe. Good luck and I am sorry you are in pain.

thenotsoeviltwin · 11/01/2023 00:03

Javelin arse. I get it during first days of period. It's quite common. I did get checked out, told it's just cos I'm getting older.
Best thing to do is breath like you're having a contraction then leg it to look to relieve some pressure! 😁

thenotsoeviltwin · 11/01/2023 00:04

Leg it to loo that should say!

DarkChocolateMint · 11/01/2023 03:48

Thank you all!!

It never used to be this bad!!

I just had to breathe through it.

Hope you are all ok too xxDaffodil

Have had these symptoms re javelin arse.

Endometriosis was the root cause in my case. You need to see a gynaecologist and if you have the means to see one for an initial consultation as a private patient do so. I suggest that as wait lists on the NHS to see gynae are miles long.

HowdyDudey · 11/01/2023 07:07

I had this and heavy periods before having the coil.

Lightningrain · 11/01/2023 07:15

I get this and have endometriosis. As others have said it does seem to be linked so it’s probably worth seeing your GP and asking for a referral.

AutumnOcean · 11/01/2023 07:22

Hi OP, yes this was a sign of endometriosis on my bowel. Sorry you're experiencing this

LapinR0se · 11/01/2023 07:24

Endometriosis. Sorry….do NOT be fobbed off. You need a laparoscopy and excision

Mol1628 · 11/01/2023 07:26

Javelin arse. I don’t have endometriosis though but I do get this sometimes

Alexandernevermind · 11/01/2023 07:27

Interesting thread. I get this pain randomly, like a cramp that lasts 20 minutes. I used to pass out at the pain, but I've got used to it now. My smear nurse said she thought it was because things had moved about during childbirth?

GeorginaLS · 11/01/2023 11:23

Please don't be fobbed off. There is terrible period pain and there is terrible endometriosis pain. I lost the possibility of a third pregnancy and suffered awful pain, paradoxically menopause for me has been a welcome transition out of this horror even if I have the odd sweaty night, at least there is HRT. My endometriosis went undiagnosed for so long, despite my feeling something was wrong X
