Questions after smear…

I had my first smear after having a baby 8 months ago today, and it was a bit weird.

Bluntly, the nurse asked if I had a coil in, which I don’t! She didn’t seem that concerned, but there was something there that looked like a coil - what on earth?! I obviously asked what it was and she said it was just that my cervix hadn’t properly closed. I’ve had a look at google which seems to suggest my cervix should close within around 6 weeks of birth but it’s been 8 months.

I’m now panikcly slightly, and not really sure where to go. As I said, the nurse didn’t seem concerned but the thought of something being not right makes me very uneasy…

any ideas?!

Hi Guineapiggiesmalls, I wouldn't worry too much. When I had my second and third baby the midwife told me that after a baby your cervix never fully closes. Yes it will close up but not fully. X
