My episiotomy stitches opened

Hi my daughters now 5 months old. During sexual intercourse I felt a stinging sensation and didn't enjoy it at all. When I look down later I realised half of my episiotomy stitches had opened. There's no wound or bleeding and I can't seem to see the stitches. It just feels very uncomfortable not painful. I wanted to know if this was normal and whether it would heal.

No that's not normal, but if there's no sign of infection (pain, discharge, offensive smell, redness, swelling) speak to your GP about a referral to a clinic.

If there are signs of infection see GP asap for antibiotics.
