Mirena coil - irregular bleeding

Have been having irregular bleeding for 3 years between period and ovulation. Have had 3 ultrasounds and the only suggestion that has been made is possible adenymosis. Gynae has suggested mirena coil 3 times now but I am reluctant as heard that it can cause the following irregular bleeding, weight gain (having worked hard to loste2.5 stone this really puts me off), pains. Just looking for people's experiences really as they have booked me in for it fitting. Also does it affect libido?

I had mirenas one after the other for 26 years. No bleeding at all after about 6-8 weeks of the first one (no bleeding after changes), if I gained weight I didn’t notice and I didn’t lose any when I finally had the last removed, and I didn’t have any pain just a but of a pinch when they were changed.
