Endometriotic cyst on ovary

I have all the symptoms of endometriosis so my gp referred me to the hospital for an ultrasound and internal scan. I received a letter this morning saying that they have found a endometriotic cyst on my right ovary. I have been referred to a gynaecologist and see them on the 23rd. The letter didn’t say anything other than what they found and about the upcoming appointment so I’m not really sure what this means. Has anyone else had this too and does it mean I have endometriotis? Thank you

Hi OP, I also have a cyst on my right ovary. My consultant has said it looks as though it's either endometrial or dermoid, but based on my symptoms he reckons endometrial. I have a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy booked in a couple of weeks, initially this was just diagnostic but now they've found the cyst, they'll remove the cyst at the same time. I ended up going private as the NHS can't even see me for an initial appointment until May. I would imagine at your next appointment they will either say they want to monitor the cyst for a few months (they can grow or disappear on their own I believe) or book you in to remove it. My consultant said if I was symptom free they'd just monitor but since I was suffering, better to remove and check for further endometriosis as well. @MrsRandallFraser That’s very helpful thank you! My local hospital was an 8 month wait, the hospital I am going to is an hour away but I don’t mind, I’m sick of the constant pain😒
