copper coil removal today - feel like shit

I had one taken out 8 or nine years ago and it didn't hurt and I felt fine after. But this one, it hurt a lot coming out, and 5 minutes after I fainted in the corner shop and I still feel weak in my legs. Also, have a headache and feel tender in my cervix (I'm guessing) I had this one in for almost 8 years. I feel like my body got used to it.

Is this to be expected?

This was also my experience some years ago. I hope you feel better soon.

I’ve read elsewhere on this site that many women suffer greatly from pain at insertion and removal of coils yet we are expected to put up with it in the name of free contraception.
