Brown Spotting for 4 days, 2 weeks after period

Hi ladies, I'm a bit confused. I've never had a short cycle in my life - I usually have very long cycles that often go for 6 weeks or more. It's not uncommon for some months to skip. Only once or twice in my life have I had a period come bang on 4 weeks after my last one - never earlier.

I'm almost 3 weeks after my period finished and I've had about 4 days of brown spotting. It's not enough to need a pad, just covers the panty liner a bit.

I'm very confused why this could be happening? I generally very very rarely spot, and the times I have spotted was like a day before my actual period. Only time I had brown spotting for this long was when I was pregnant.

I had some tummy twinges when it starts and a slight migraine but otherwise nothing. I did an ovulation test because I thought maybe it's that but the line came super faint?

Me and my partner are not actively TTC, we've been using withdrawal method this month, so I don't imagine or see how it could be pregnancy, and seems too early for implantation bleed?

I use to get spotting between my periods for 1-2 days. Sometimes red sometimes brown. Back in 2017 they found a tiny uterine polyp(1.4cm). They said it might of been that but it is small so it is likely due to hormonal issues. They said it was up to me if I wanted it removed , they weren't concerned. So I left it. I had my daughter in 2018 and son in 2021. I had one to two episodes of spotting between a period after having both kids but nothing like before I had kids. It was more like a red/pink discharge after I wiped after peeing. So it definitely got better.

After the spotting with my son I got checked out last year. The transvaginal ultrasound said my uterine polyp was gone. I had one more episode of spotting in October so I said better go get checked again to be safe. They found a possible 0.6mm uterine polyp. Now I don't know if it was missed last year or its a new one. My doctor wasn't concerned but I told her I want gynecologist opinion since my mother just had precancer removed from her uterus and cervix.
So now I'm on waitlist for a gynecologist and I have to go do a sonohysterogram again soon.

Go see your doctor for a transvaginal ultrasound it might be uterine polyp or fibroids or it could just be all hormonal. Either way any kind of spotting between periods is not normal. Goodluck

Hi, thanks for your response. Brown spotting stopped now after almost 6 days. I have gone to gyno before because I have very irregular periods so I wondered if all was good, and she told me that I’m literally on the border of being diagnosed with PCOS. There were some cysts in my cervix but one was like 10mm and the other was 9.5, and she told me anything above 10 is PCOS. I have no other symptoms. So idk if it could maybe be some flare up of that?

I’ll see how I am in the next few weeks and if it comes back I’ll def ask my doctor.

all preg tests have been negative aside from one which I accidentally flooded and when it finally dried there was a slight smidge on the test line. But yeah I think that’s just cos it was flooded
