I went on the pill (Microgynon) at the end of October and I've ran packs together.
i thought i had BV on Wednesday due to smelling fishing for a few days even straight after a shower so i bought some branded BV gel and have been using it since yesterday when i suddenly got a period.
I thought it was weird to get a period, but thought maybe it was a breakthrough bleed.
today i went to the toilet and noticed this flesh like substance on the loo roll once i wiped.
what is it? Sorry for the gross pics

Maybe a large fibroid?

Cocolapew · 18/12/2022 13:28

a piece of tissue that you pass through your vagina in one solid piece. It happens when the thick mucus lining of the uterus, called the decidua, sheds in the near exact shape of your uterine cavity, creating a triangular “cast

I had something very similar once and never again - I would say it was the size and consistency of a small chicken breast. Don’t know what it was but it was years ago and never happened again and I’m fine.

Thank you everyone. Yes definitely going to make a doctors appointment tomorrow. I don't feel so panicked about it anymore after reading these replies, so thank you 💐

These pop up every so often on Mumsnet and are deciduous casts as said above. I'd never heard of them until I saw them on here.

I knew what it was even before opening the thread! Lots on here over the years.

gamerchick · 20/12/2022 21:27

Just a pity it's not a period in one go. That would do me.

Whywhywhywhy3 · 20/12/2022 21:31

Yes looks like a decidual cast. I've never had one but apparently they are very common if you take the pill and are not anything to worry about!

RestingMurderousFace · 20/12/2022 21:35

Yeah, decidual cast. I had one this year after Covid, freaked me the fuck out!
