Questions about Decapeptyl injection to shrink fibroids ahead of hysterectomy

Does anyone know if I should be stopping or continuing to take the pill after my Decapeptyl injection today? I don't need it for contraception, I have been using to control my (horrendous) periods while waiting for a hysterectomy, now scheduled for March 2023.

Also, old MN threads suggest that the injection makes people gain weight. I was looking forward to looking less pregnant as my massive fibroid shrank...

Hi OP I’d keep going for a month or two unless they tell you otherwise. The injections didn’t stop my periods. Hope they do for you.

I also didn’t put weight on, if that helps. I had mild menopause like symptoms but only mild. I didn’t mind them. They just didn’t do much for me.
