Bleeding for 3 straight months

I had a copper coil inserted last December during my DC2 c-section. Had an ultrasound later, coil in fine, happy days.

Period returned beginning of September. And it’s still going. Sorry to be TMI but it doesn’t even feel like a period, it’s not brown, watery, or tissuey. It’s just red. Sometimes a lot, sometimes not a lot but I have gone through four boxes of 32 tampons since 5th September! (Don’t @ me please, I can’t use a cup)

I didn’t have this issue with a different copper coil 6 years ago, although periods were more sporadic and longer. But I’m fed up now.

i have resigned myself to getting it removed and my husband was getting the snip. But is it worth mentioning to my GP?

Yes it is in answer to your last question. It is also worth seeing a gynae; you should never just put up with constant bleeding (I had similar issues for months on end and the GPs answers were to give me a blood test and transexamic acid which did not work. I ended up seeing a gynae as a private patient and went onto have ablation surgery which stopped the bleeding).
