Pelvic Ultrasound results - wait for Dr appointment?

Hi all

I had a pelvic ultrasound last week following constant lower left abdomen pain.
i was told last year following an ultrasound and mri that I have a unicornuate uterus with communicating rudimentary horn. Was also told I have a right sided follicular ovary and multicystic left ovary with a 1.5cm hemorragic cyst. After that I was basically just left on my own with no follow up.

i had my second ultrasound last week on Tuesday afternoon and on Wednesday morning the dr surgery rang and told me the Dr wanted to see me - the next appointment is 7th December which I’ve booked. this seems like a long time away for a call straight away and I can’t begin to think what they need to see me for. Am I being unreasonable to ask for an earlier appointment or at least if they could send me the ultrasound report in advance?

Following my original ultrasound, the dr gave me the MRI report because I was asking lots of questions (phone call) and I took that away and did my own research on this condition as he didn’t seem too sure.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Not a doctor, but it sounds as if your uterus hasn’t formed quite properly and there’s a cyst on one of your ovaries.
If it was an emergency the ultrasonographer would have recommended you see the doctor urgently, but they haven’t. It’s only a couple of weeks to wait, so that should be ok.

Uterus may be bifurcated, so you may have 2. Speak to the Dr for clarification.

Also, if this appointment was very urgent you would have been seen by now so I know this is easy for me to say, try not to worry too in much. I am sure you will be fine.

Thanks both for the replies.

I know from my own research that I have a uterine deformity. It’s just this issue that I have now - which I don’t think is related - because that was a while ago and this is was a separate referral to the last one for a new issue. That’s why I’m concerned what else they might want to tell me about this time as they closed my cost last year about that and the cyst I had.

So results are in.
I have a 4 x 4cm heterogenous mass on the left ovary, which “may be a haemorragic cyst but other causes cannot be excluded” - whatever that means. Been referred to gynae on a 2 week pathway. Does anyone know what this appointment will entail?
