Hello all,
has anyone ever had a dent in there breast?
I only Have them in one boob and it can be seen while stood with my arms at my side and when I flex and also when I gently press my breast but not when my arms are raised.
the breast is also become smaller.
I have a urgent breast appointment on Tuesday but just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this. I will include a photo so you can see.
thanks

Hi,

I didn't want to ignore this. If you are getting seen by a breast clinic on Tuesday, then that's perfect. I don't remember the exact statistics, but the vast vast majority of women attending a breast clinic don't get a cancer diagnosis - but you'll feel better having got this checked out.

Best of luck for Tuesday!

Good luck for Tuesday I've been through breast cancer....no dent for me I found a lump. If you need a chat happy to listen....but most referrals are not BC

I've been through it too. Mine was a dent, no lump. But it was incredibly bad luck. It's very likely that this is nothing.

Newgirl80 · 27/11/2022 19:59

I keep thinking no it’s not to I think it’s something.
did your dents look similar? The breast that has the dents has also become smaller/higher almost (more purt) if that makes sense.
I know I only need to wait till tues but it’s been two weeks by that point so it feel like a lifetime x

May I ask how did you get on I’m currently waiting for my scan as I have one similar not sure if it’s a stretch mark or more serious. But that’s the only boob that has a line dent. I’m trying to think positive but would love to know other peoples outcomes. Hope you got the all clear x

Gemz847 · 08/10/2023 20:27

Hi
i have very similar but only noticeable when I tense or bend forward please let me know how you get on x

Genxy25 · 11/10/2023 12:41

Hi!

I too have exact dent on my right breast and it's visible when I press my breast and becomes faint when I flex.
How have you been doing?

Gemz847 · 11/10/2023 15:46

Hi! I’m trying to put it at the back of my mind as I have bad health anxiety 😒 I’m just keeping an eye on it i am pretty sure I have one on the other breast too so I have a feeling it’s just due to the fact I have large breasts and age is making them sag and pull more as I have a lot more visible stretch makes now (I’m 39) hope you’re ok? X

Ratfinkstinkypink · 11/10/2023 15:55

I had one like that and it was a collapsed cyst. Give the GP a call, I was referred under the two week rule and had my mind put at rest.

gr1981 · 10/11/2023 12:36

did people get their results for this? I have the same as OP, only visible when arms by side, disappears when arms are raised...had a regular mammo, recalled for second mammo (3d) as the first showed "some asymmetric density in the central part of the breast", which they did say on the letter could just be normal breast tissue shadow....awaiting results on the second mammo, which was only done on weds morning.

Mrsworried1 · 23/05/2025 13:36

How is everyone? I have a dent in my breast and Gp could feel a lump, but I can’t. Been referred to breast clinic but I feel sick with worry.

gr1981 · 23/05/2025 16:55

Hey @Mrsworried1 I had (and still have!) a noticeable dent, no palpable lump. My assessments were drawn out between august-april... I had a normal mammogram, then a 3D mammogram, then an ultrasound, then a follow up consultant examination a few months later to check if anything had changed or if any lump or thickening had formed in the meantime - the consultant was comfortable nothing had changed. The upshot was it's nothing. No cause found just "one of those things". I also found a lump in my late 20s (around 12 years prior to the dent, in the other boob) which was biopsied; that turned out to be a fibroadenoma. I've read many threads in many forums where people are terrified of the worst, as I absolutely was, but MOST have ended up being either nothing or something benign. Easy for me to say now, but do keep in mind that the vast majority of these investigations end up being clear. I appreciate majority doesn't mean all, and that was the part that kept my terror levels high so I do completely empathise with you. Sometimes these threads help ease the panic Xx

Mrsworried1 · 23/05/2025 19:09

Yes definitely, that’s why I tend to post here as generally you get others experiences and it helps reading if people have had a positive outcome as I try to stay off Google as it causes such bad anxiety. I’m not sure how I’ll get through the next two weeks, it’s my little ones birthday and I just feel so scared. It’s bothering me I can’t find the lump, I can just feel a thick area. The dimple is so obvious it can’t have been there long as I would have noticed it as I fake tan and lift my arms up and do my boobs with it so I would have seen it! Hoping its nothing :( but I’ve been to the breast clinic a few times and I just feel like this time I won’t be as lucky x

gr1981 · 23/05/2025 22:18

I agree, Dr Google seems to help you find the negative outcomes very easily!! Totally understand your concern - hopefully you get a quick answer. I was constantly prodding and poking and looking in the mirror from as many angles as possible and I was convinced the dent area felt more dense than the other side, then it started getting sore too, I assume due to my constat jabbing! I guess our worry can make us overthink things and feel like luck won't be on our side, but I really hope it is for you! Such a horrible waiting game. Do you have your appointment date yet?

Not yet, I think I will feel a bit better when I at least know a date. I can’t stop looking in the mirror, it’s such a clear dent, that’s what’s worrying me most :( xx

gr1981 · 24/05/2025 09:07

Mine is really obvious too. it also seemed like it must have come up overnight because it was so apparent when I looked in the mirror one morning!

Thanks for your replies it has helped me. I just feel so sad, all the usual feelings, scared of leaving my little girl with no mum etc it’s just a lot when you go through this stuff. I’ve had a lump before but never been able to feel it, it was found incidentally, had biopsies etc and it was a fibroadenoma, was a worrying time, but this was pre child! So onky had to worry for myself xx
