Can you feel lymph nodes in your neck?

I suffer from health anxiety so I constantly feel my neck for lymph nodes. I can feel at least 4 small ones on one side and 2 on the other side. They move and are smaller than a pea. Is this worrying?

Hi I know this is an old thread but I was just wondering if you found out if they were okay?

ferneytorro · 26/04/2023 16:59

I can feel the ones in my groin and one in my neck that’s been there for years . I was ill once and back of my neck ones were swollen which I told the doctor who looked at me like I was an idiot and said well yes that is what they are there for To fight infection.

so think some you can all the time some just when they are doing their job.

I’ve looked so much into it the past 2 weeks I e learned so much lol. The pea size or bean size ones you can find are not actually swollen that’s how they are meant to feel! And lots of people can feel them they are there for a reason. Swollen is actually the size of a grape and over. I’ve been stressing so much 😂

Hey! I actually left them alone and I’m still alive - it’s super normal aparently to feel pea sized ones on your neck and I had no idea! With my anxiety, I know the more I feel around the more I’ll find them and freak out!

Oh that’s good!! Are they still there now?
I know I’ve decided from today I’m leaving them alone and see if they go down! I know if you play too much with them they will stay up

AnxiousMama94 · 03/05/2023 22:58

Oh yeah they’re still there now haha I try to not poke them, I’ll occasionally get my anxiety come back and I’ll keep poking them for a few days, irritate them, and then try forget about them. I promise they’re meant to be there. If they’re not big and noticeable please do not worry ❤️

Ahhh I have the exact same thing and I have horrid health anxiety. I've spent most of today touching up the one in my neck hahah. Glad to know it's not just me!

Mammaitalian · 05/05/2023 16:39

Aw health anxiety is the worst ain’t it!!
mine have gone down a little tbf since if left them alone a bit. I’m just a bit worried if they are close to my collarbone now! It’s like never ending lol

This has given me so much relief I'm awful with health anxiety and I can feel 2 not even pea sized nodes at the back of my head just below my hair line I've been in a right state thinking all sorts. Are yours still there now xx

Mammaitalian · 07/06/2024 14:14

Hi lovely, oh it’s the worst ain’t it!
yes mine are still there and have 3 now 2 on one side and one on the other, if I leave them alone they shrink a lot. But apparently they can remain there forever too! I had a few bouts of tonsillitis and maybe that’s why. It’s very common for people to feel them especially that small. I think it’s only a worry if they are bigger than 1cm and obviously keep growing xx
