Breast biopsy when pregnant

Hi I had a sore breast recently. The GP thought it was nothing but referred to breast clinic anyway. I saw the midwife and because it was swollen they gave antibiotics to treat a possible mastitis. At the clinic the breast consultant felt it and did an ultrasound. It was clear but because of the swelling they asked that I come back in two weeks and wear a support bra. When I went back he checked again and said they were happy not to see me again but could do some random biopsies for piece of mind. He said he was 99 per cent sure all was fine and I'd get results over the phone. He said if he was concerned he would have seen me in person. I relaxed a little. However this was Thursday and I got a call from the nurse this morning saying he wants to see me tomorrow. She said the lab had been in touch with him and they will have a report tomorrow. I said I was petrified and she acknowledged that and said she has not seen any result but it is advisable to bring someone.

I'm now SO worried. They were happy to discharge me but now I'm petrified it is serious. Any support or positive stories would be very welcome. I'm pregnant and have young babies.

Thanks.

Hi OP, I didn't want to read and run. I've been to the breast clinic 4 times since having DD1 and it's daunting. I just wanted to say I'm thinking of you and hope all goes well tomorrow Flowers

Oh gosh, I’m so sorry you’ve been put through this stress. On a positive note they are clearly taking it seriously and are getting you in as quickly as you can.
Hopefully someone will come along soon who has been through similar with a positive outcome.
in the meantime I’d advise staying away from Google, though you could try ringing a helpline like this for some information breastcancernow.org/information-support/support-you/call-our-helpline
Best of luck

Unfortunately the sample was positive for an inflammatory cancer so treatment starts soon. They said it is treatable and seemed positive.
