Swollen abdomen, pain and black discharge

I’ve name changed as a few people know some of what’s going on in RL.

On Monday I was rushed to hospital with suspected appendicitis. Scans and bloods all fine so discharged the next day. Pain and swelling continued so visited GP who suggested mid cycle pain. Pain has become more discomfort but swelling continues.
Today I have a small amount of odourless black discharge.

I don’t know what to do next.

Discharge definitely from your vagina? I’d call your GP, or 111 if that fails.

GP is calling back. I’ve never spoken to the GP this much in my life as I have this week.

A&E. Did they rule out ectopic pregnancy?

I had another internal examination and they’ve said it’s from my cervix and it’s probably hormonal but to keep an eye on my temperature over the weekend. I’m just really fed up, I’m normally fit and healthy and I’m not very good at being unwell. I look like a balloon.

Not sure. I imagine it would have shown on a scan so presumably it probably isn’t then. Depends if they scanned your ovaries or just your appendix? You could ask your gp if they have the hospital notes whether it states what was scanned. I just guessed ovaries as you spoke about a swollen abdomen.

The scan for appendix usually doesn't look at gynaecological organs. The gynae scan is usually transvaginal. Sounds like it could be either womb infection/ovarian cyst/ectopic pregnancy.

I had black discharge with an ectopic.

Could be a ovarian cyst or pid.

You would need vaginal swabs and a pelvic gynae scan.

Ectopics are not always seen on scan, and as a PP has said you'd need to be looking in the right place. I hope you're either feeling better or have been seen.
