Hormonal spots

I've suddenly got spots on my cheeks and around my chin/mouth area - I'm late 30s and didn't have it this bad as a teenager

I don't know what's changed but I think it's hormonal as they get worse before my period. Recently though it's just pretty bad all the time - with new ones appearing and causing scarring now.

Mixture of whiteheads and larger painful red bumps that aren't 'poppable' - (sorry TMI!)

Any advice please let me know - it's started this year, I'd say 7-8 months of it now, and not getting better - worse if anything.

Thanks

Same problem here. I've been to my GP who recommended birth control pills but I don't want to take anything with hormones in. I've tried various creams and antibiotics but no luck yet. Just started seeing a dermatologist so will see what that brings. My dr said it's really common in women approaching 40. I've tried adjusting what I eat too and no difference. Sorry that doesn't sound very positive, I'm still hopeful dermatologist can help though 🤞🏻. I'm so fed up of having a constantly spotty chin 😩.

Hormonal spots are by their nature caused by hormone imbalances and fluctuations, Hormonal spots normally appear around the mouth and chin. The most effective treatment unsurprisingly is hormone based, to rebalance your hormones.

Imo diet makes little difference but you could try cutting down on sugar and dairy.

There are all sorts of topical treatments, which work for some and not others, it’s all trial and error really, unfortunately. The best thing to do is see a doctor. People often think it’s not worth it but it’s an ailment just like lots of others.

I'm 30 and I've recently in the last week just got rid of HORRDENDOUS what seems to be some new planets they've discovered here on earth.. just unfortunately for me they were sitting on my sodding chin.
I feel like it's getting worse as I get older. And like you, it's more the big red boily under the skin feckers that bother me the most. Forever trying to find a miracle cream to even just take the redness and swelling down or something but it's frustrating.
I'm on the marina coil and don't have periods but I'm guessing I'd be due on because my moods been that of a YOYO this last week or so. 🙃 just know you're not alone xx
