PMDD/PMS help

Hi

I've seen a few useful threads on here about PMDD/severe PMS. After tracking my cycle for 3 months (and suffering for a long while..), I need to go and get some help.

Can anyone recommend a specialist in this field? (I know Nick Panay is often mentioned - wait list is full for ages so I need some other options).

I don't know, but I think my issue is extreme sensitivity to progesterone - does anyone have any positive results from using hormonal treatments/injections to control PMDD? 25-50% of my life is unbearable at the moment :(

Thanks

Following, sorry nothing to contribute but I suffer horrendously with PMDD and need to start tracking. It's just over a week of looking and feeling a complete state every month. Bloated, terrible skin - dry and spotty - full of rage and teariness and general inability to deal with life. I don't really think my doc would take me seriously as I've fairly recently come off SSRIs so he'd just tell me to go back on them. But I'm fine the first 2/3 / 3/4 of the month so Confused it's definitely a peri thing or at least exacerbated by it.

Suffered it all my adult life and funnily the only thing that helped was more progesterone - but only in LARCs, the injection and the implant. Now I'm peri I can't seem to tolerate any of it though.

I can’t help OP, I’ve only ever been offered anti depressants. Also ridiculously sensitive to progesterone. Following for any advice.

well at least solidarity in numbers! Yup, half of the month I'm fine - better than fine! Then the other half is just god f*ing awful. Obviously in middle of it now :/

Would recommend tracking cycle - I had put if off for ages but actually it is helpful to look back and the pattern is so so clear.

@wannarunfromitall yeh I don't have faith my GP would help - feels like you would need to come across one who was very clued up on menstrual disorders which seems ...unlikely
