CIN1 pregnancy/childbirth

My last smear was clear, then during pregnancy I had bleeds etc so after I gave birth they wanted to do a smear, which shows CIN1.

They want to smear again in 12 months.
It doesn't say on the letter that I have HPV but I've heard that's what causes this.....
Would it mention it in my letter if I tested pos for that?

I've only been with DH, worried that I have CIN1 from HPV and how did I get that?
Or it is possible to have CIN1 because of pregnancy/birth?

Sorry. Overwhelmed and knackered from baby.

You most likely will have HPV as standard smear they will test for that first before looking for abnormal cells. HPV can lie dormant in your system for years and years. Pregnancy can often result in it showing up as your immune system is lower and so the virus comes out of dormancy x

I had a smear a few months before I got pregnancy and it showed up clear, if I had HPV would it have shown up?x
Worried I went from clear to CIN1 in a year x

@pambeasly not necessarily - its possible that it was dormant before and now is active. It can 'come and go' almost ie might not show up (dormant) then next smear might appear (active) then could go dormant again. Try not to worry about CIN1 - they will keep an eye on them and if they become an issue they'll remove them, but just like HPV they can sometimes go away by themselves. That's why they'll smear again in a year, to see if it's changed or not x
