Hi went for a colposcopy Last week for borderline cell changes and had a biposy waiting 4 weeks for results had this letter today saying this today and got me really scared.
Colpolscopic impression of high grade lesion with dense acetowhite. Does this mean I have a risk it is cancer thank you freaking out

Hi OP, I'm not medically trained but I have been in your position so might be able to help a bit.
When you had your colposcopy they will have applied acetic acid which causes the cells to change colour and makes and cell changes easier to see. That's the acetowhite the letter refers to.
It looks like you have high grade cell changes but that doesn't necessarily mean cancer so don't panic right away.
I had high grade CIN 3 and CGIN which have now been removed. They're not cancer but a sign that the cells have gone through changes which could potentially, one day in the future become cancerous.
I would give the colposcopy unit a call tomorrow and ask them to explain it fully. Sometimes the results letter comes out before the consultants letter at my hospital which is confusing.
Try not to worry, I know it's hard. 💐
