Nausea with Mirena coil

Hi. I've had a mirena coil for about three weeks and have had a fair bit of nausea. It's reduced the really, really heavy bleeding I was having which is great but I'm wondering whether anyone else has experienced the same and how long it's likely to last for in your experience?

Hey. I've had the Marina in for about a year and a half now. The first 6 months I experienced all kinds of goings on, including nausea, mood swings, unpredictable bleeding/spotting etc. I struggled at times to get through them times and wanted it out but the GP said to wait at least 6 months to let my body adjust to it, and all should calm down. Low and behold they did and it's been amazing ever since.
Nausea can be a side effect of the marina but try and stick with it if you can and it should ease within max 6 months hopefully!
Maybe worth trying to find something to help ease the nausea away as and when, certain foods can help this x

Thanks for sharing your experience, it's really helpful. Sounds like I need to give it a good size months to settle. X

@Redlorry1234 it's a mare isn't it. Obviously if you're at the point where you feel genuinely concerned or you can't hack it any more then have a chat with the GP. I can only speak from my experience and of course every body reacts differently, but that is what I was told at the time, and she wasn't wrong at all.
I hope the nausea eases for you soon and it all starts to settle! Xx
