Electric kegel machine is giving me ...

I bought an electric kegel exerciser, the kind with a probe that gives mild electric shocks. The problem I'm having with it is the day after use my vagina is so unbearably itchy! It happens every single time I've used it. Had swabs done for thrush and BV etc, all negative. It only happens a few hours after using this machine and the itch lasts for around 2 days! Anyone know why this is and what I can do to stop it happening?? I can't keep using it if it's going to make me so itchy down there the next day.

What is it made of? Could it be latex?

You're electrocuting your fanjo???????????????????????
Why????????????????????
It's probably nerve damage causing the itching.

You made me laugh @SpookabooAtTheZoo 🤣🤣

I dont know if it actually gives electric shocks but it does cause the muscles to contract, it's like a kegel 8 machine but a different brand 🤣🤣 it feels like an electric shock! 😆

It's made of metal and plastic!

What are you cleaning it with?

I'd stop using it and just do normal kegals. If you need extra help get a physio session or use medical grade silicon weights.

I was told the probes can corrode/get rusty and therefore need replacing every few months even if you clean it thoroughly. Also which lube are you using? It should be water based, not oil.

Mydoggosarethebest · 29/10/2022 20:08

I've only had it s month so it shouldn't be rusty already

And I've been cleaning it by sitting it in boiling water

Drying it thoroughly though? Are you allergic to that type of metal used? Check the lube too for allergic reaction. Any chance of buying a spare probe from the official site in case its faulty? Just throwing them out there but it does sound awful. You have my sympathies

Just had a look online and one of the first things that came up was on kegel 8 website, saying the reason they use gold plated probes is because some women have a nickel allergy which is the metal used in most of the others. Main symptom is severe itching! so I bet that's what it is! Going to change probes to a gold plated one and see if that helps

Thanks @Pixiedust1234

Awesome! Good luck with the proper one and please update if it works

I have a genuine kegel8 and have a nickel-free probe as I am allergic to nickel. The customer service from where I got it, stressnomore, has been really excellent.

Do you think it's working @CosmopolitanPlease?

CosmopolitanPlease · 03/11/2022 08:23

Yes definitely, I really recommend it. I could never do regular pelvic floor exercises (made me feel sort of squeamish?) but I just pop in the kegel and go on my phone/watch telly/read a book for half an hour and it's done. I find my orgasms are far stronger when I'm using it regularly so that's my motivation to remember!
