Oh joy, could these symptoms be thrush? Do I take the canestan?

I've never (knowingly) had it before.

I'm in a newish relationship and we just spent the weekend together, so I've recently been quite sexually active. Full protection used but as far as we're both aware we're both in the clear for STIs. I also had a colposcopy on 7 Sept (thankfully all OK).

Yesterday afternoon I got a bit of stinging when urinating. I've had cystitis before quite often and thought it was that, so did my usual protocol of drinking a lot of water and ~4 hours later it was fine. No issues since. It's definitely not cystitis.

However this afternoon (i.e. 24 hours later) I've had a mild itch and when I went to the bathroom I passed a lot of cottage cheese like discharge. I've never actually seen so much. No distinctive smell or concerning colour, just white / cream.

I've gone to the pharmacy and bought canestan duo (tablet and cream). I'm fairly sure it's thrush, but should I try to see a doctor first? My surgery isn't easy to get appointments at!
