Self pity moan - bastard fibroids

Not the end of the world and in comparison to some problems posted on here it's nothing really. On holiday in middle of nowhere, all together 24/7 when we usually aren't, dh driving me mad as no spare bed to escape to when snoring, he thinks we're all happy families and dc should be sat talking to us every night not watching TV / on phoebe's to friends / being teenagers

Now, after thinking my period was ending, I'm bleeding again, lots of lovely bleeding again thanks to my bastard fibroid. Going through sanitary stuff I brought at a rate on knotts so likely will have a jolly trip out tomorrow to find a shop in middle of nowhere that will sell anything.
Fed up of going through clothes that need washing thanks to leaks and havibg to watch where I sit in case I bleed through.

Feel like shit and fed up.

Moan over 😳😂😭

I feel your pain- I suffered awfully with fibroids, I had myomectomy surgery to remove them - best thing I ever did. I couldn’t take the flooding and constant cramping- it’s not normal.

Have you tried the progesterone-only pill?

Berlinlover · 24/10/2022 23:29

I feel your pain. The progesterone only pill Cerrazette has worked for me. It stopped my periods completely and hopefully will continue to work.

Yes,, pill not worked, I don't have large fibroid but I am covered inside with them, coil isn't working as fibroid preventing it from staying put... Just fed up!!

I work with a radiologist who has made something of a specialty in uterine artery embolisation for fibroids. It's not for everyone, I think you need not your family to be complete for starters. I also can't remember his stats but not everyone gets improvement from it but for some it's life changing.

You could start making enquiries if there is anyone in your area that does this.

This explains it a bit more OP.

www.radiologyinfo.org/en/info/uterine-fibroid-treatment

Just occasionally when we are doing the procedure it's not possible to proceed, which can't really be predicted but sometimes the arterial configuration means it is not suitable and you won't know that until looking at the anatomy in real time. For instance one woman the artery supplying the fibroid was also supplying the ovary and there was a risk of shutting off blood supply to the ovary so it wasn't possible to do it.

Women come in for an overnight stay for pain relief - it's very painful as the fibroid has its blood supply shut off, we put up a fentanyl patient controlled analgesia device as well as lots of other painkillers.
Same as the severe period pain fibroids cause really but more intense.

I have sympathy for the pain as I had a degenerating fibroid when I was pregnant - the text books say it's painful and it was! I was admitted for pain relief but didn't want IM pethidine so I had oral pethidine and it was the worst night of my life, hallucinating and throwing up. Later I had acupuncture - I think it helped but probably it was just getting better anyway with the passage of time.

FannyCann that's really useful, I'll look at that in more depth, thankyou.
