Anyone know how you find out how long a wait it might be for a scan?

I have a prolapse organ, pretty sure. I'm told a referral has been made for a scan and a physio. I have no idea what the wait times might be and whether I should consider going private. It is impossible to find out from the gp without getting another appointment, which is impossible to get.
Anyone know?

My GP said I have prolapse and will get a hospital appointment. After waiting for more than a month I finally decided to go private.The dr has asked me to get a pelvic ultrasound done but my lady parts are sore so I have been given Vagifem to calm things down before the scan.
