Numbness on right hand side (foot, calf and forearm/fingers)....Mirena removal linked???

Hi all

For about a week now I have had numbness in my right lower leg and toes. In the last couple of days it has spread to my right forearm and a couple of fingers, even the right side of my face. I am stressing about it and all sorts of nasty diagnoses but trying to keep level-headed. I also have a GP appointment booked.

It may just be a coincidence but I also had the Mirena coil removed a couple of weeks ago. Could this be a side effect? I have had it (numbness) before but it didn't last this long and was more localised. I have also had vertigo/dizziness a couple of times in the past.

I am worrying about MS but are there other innocent explanations?

Numbness should always be investigated, have you seen GP? That would be a first step, GP can action a referral to Neurologist, if he/she feels it’s appropriate. Good luck.

Yes, saw the GP who has done bloods. Have to wait for them and if no clarity on causes then I go for an MRI. I am very, very worried about it being something horrid like a tumour or MS but I know there are some more innocent explanations. I guess I am clutching at straws a little to find them as I worry 😔 Today is day 11 and still I have a numbness in my right lower leg, right arm and slightly on the side of my face. No other obvious symptoms I can think of.
