Heavy periods in perimenopause

I'm 48, for the last few years my periods have been coming closer together, about every 26/27 days. They're v heavy, even with double pads on i leak through, plus large clots sorry tmi.
I've been going dizzy and lightheaded plus very tired all the time , dry sore skin, hair like straw.
Did an e consultation with the GP on Friday to ask to be checked for anaemia.
Has anyone had similar, will GP just do bloods or will they send me for scans etc?
TIA

I had this - a bit younger than you. I was anaemic which makes it worse. I went on the pill (Qlaira) as HRT. My sister had a mirena put in. I'm now 55 and just had a mirena put in.

The extra hormones, from pill/mirena/gel - all sorted the heavy periods out. It's very common to have flooding and they are unlikely to send you for scans.
