I've been having night sweats EVERY night for months and months and months. I thought it was the heat, and now I know it isn't. Often I wake up drenched

Are you peri menopausal?

ChangePlease · 23/09/2022 20:08

I had this and it was bloody miserable. Months. Then stopped out of nowhere. Not helpful but perhaps a ray of optimism for an ending!

Stroopwaffle5000 · 23/09/2022 20:52

I've had this for about 10 years (I'm 43) At first I thought it was my medication but I've stopped taking it now and I still get the sweats. I wake up most mornings completely drenched!

I had this recently...was horrible! I ended up having blood tests and all normal. They just stopped suddenly after months and months, they've started back up again though.

BarrelOfOtters · 23/09/2022 21:05

It was peri menopause for me. Hrt stopped it. Wool duvet helps tremendously.

Nightynightnight · 23/09/2022 21:06

Are you on medication?
What age are you?
How regular are your periods?

inheritanceshiteagain · 23/09/2022 21:07

Menopause. Get HRT and regain normality. Night sweats are vile

BeyondMyWits · 23/09/2022 21:11

It is not necessarily the menopause. Please speak to a doctor, and get checked out... there are a number of problems where night sweats is a symptom.

nannybeach · 23/09/2022 21:15

Night sweats hot flushes,am 71, went through the menopause at 42,spent 18 years on HRT, moved, new GP wouldn't prescribe it anymore. 10 years I have had them, blood tests 2 weeks ago,all completely normal range.

pictish · 23/09/2022 21:18

I have experienced a few short bouts of these. I’m 47. I’ll get two weeks of them, then nothing for ages. Then again for a few days, then nothing. I am soaked. It is so unpleasant.

Hempy · 23/09/2022 21:19

I agree with Beyond. I'm menopausal but was presenting at GP with symptoms of another condition and they asked about night sweats as part of that possible issue. Best to get checked.

girlladywoman · 23/09/2022 21:31

Hi all,
Thanks for your replies.

I am 39. Periods are regular, Altho I had two in January. I have been getting thrush and nausea when ovulating.

See your GP. It could be something or nothing but you are best to err on the side of caution.

Have you had a baby in the last year?

I sweated awfully for over a year after my c section.
