Recurrent UTI & Jury service

I suffer from recurrent UTI. Last two month I have had 5 flare-ups and had to take 5 courses of antibiotics. My GP referred me to a urologist and am waiting for appointment coming through at the moment.

My husband has just been called for jury service (his second time). I have never been called for jury service so far.
That got me thinking...
I usually get UTI symptoms suddenly without warning and have to rush to toilet every few minutes.
If I get called for jury service and suddenly UTI symptoms attack while I'm in a court room, what shall I do??
'Recurrent UTI' would be reasonable reason to be excused
from jury service?

You can go to the toilets when you need to. It's a shame it takes so long to get a referral and help with them though, sympathies as it's bloody horrible.

I have had these thoughts as well. I have had a bladder problem that rules my life for 18 years. Mine is all documented by doctors and hospital records. So I would be asking my gp for a letter. I’m gutted as it would be something I would be interested in doing. But not a chance could I sit there like that with not being able to go to the loo when needed.
