My VAGIIIINA

trampoline123 · 18/09/2022 06:13

My vagina is an angry bitch. I keep getting regular bout of it feeling really dry, like so dry I mentally scratch at it and it goes red and a bit swollen. It's like all over not just inside, no discharge.

Anyone else had this or know what it sounds like?

Thrush? Irritation from washing powder?

Are you of peri menopausal age? I’m 43 and mine was dry/sore and I think I it’s all hormonal. I’ve found moisturising creams and pessaries that really help but it wasn’t really angry and red just dry/irritated and itchy.

Depends on your age. I’d you’re around menopause it could be a lack of oestrogen causing the dryness.

Justleaveitblankthen · 18/09/2022 06:39

How old are you?

Amrapaali · 18/09/2022 06:40

Yes having the same issue. Definitely peri menopause.

I treated it with Vagisil. The GP prescribed steroid cream also. Together they alleviate the symptoms for a bit but the root cause is still there. Low oestrogen.

HRT beckons I think...

Oh gawd, I did wonder. It only goes red after I've scratched it.

I'm 38 at the end of the year.

I think I'll book an appt, I'm guessing they'd do a blood test or swab.

Yeah get a swab before treating as perimenopause.

Had similar and it was thrush- no discharge had made me discount it wrongly.

In fact, in your situ, I would buy OTC thrush treatment and try that before bothering with the appointment.

I had a baby a year ago and am on the implant but these past few months I feel like I'm spotting and bleeding quite a lot

Good idea!
