Vulvodynia

Does anybody have experience of this horrible condition? My 79-year old mum has been suffering from severe vulval discomfort for more than 6 months now. It appeared to start with thrush but now her doctors can't see anything wrong or detect any infection.
She can't wear anything but loose skirts... underwear or anything touching the area feels unbearable. She's been prescribed creams like lidocaine and estrogen, and she also had nortryptaline for a couple of months. That gave her side effects and didn't help the pain.
To make matters worse she became unwell a few weeks ago with headache and vomiting and she's not really got better. She has very little appetite and no energy. We're not sure if this is something completely separate or linked to her vulvodynia.
Her blood tests are clear and doctors seem to be at a loss. She saw a private consultant who prescribed the nortryptaline.
I'm so worried about her as she's just a shadow of her former self at the moment. If anyone has any experience or advice to offer, I'd be really grateful.

I’ve had it for 15+ years. Unfortunately all of the treatments did nothing for me :( there is a group on FB worth looking at.
