Hello,

I have been trying to conceive with my wife For two months now, this time she missed her period by almost three weeks, we did pregnancy test which turned out to be negative. We went to see her GP, she recommended her to do some blood test. We did that yesterday, we called to request the results, they told us results were in but we needed to book an appointment to talk with gp and that we would receive a call from here next Monday . Usually they just tell us over the phone that it is fine. We are stressing out, does this mean something bad with the results?

Totally normal for any test results

The receptionist is not trained to interpret fertility testing! It’s quite complex and needs to be explained!

I do agree with both of you, but in my gp there is a service to give test results by pressing for when calling. Moreover, we did three test results earlier and they gave us the results over the phone when they were normal, so that is why we are worried!

It depends on the receptionist at my gp surgery. Some will give out results and some won't. Some will tell you the wrong results 🙄
When we rang for out fertility results the receptionist said we would need to speak to a gp as there was an issue. We had to wait one week for that appointment.

hi fairgame,

so they tell you to speak to a gp in case there is an issue, isn’t it?

It depends on your gp practice. What happens at mine might not be the same as what happens at yours.
It could be that there's an issue or it could be that the receptionist didn't feel confident giving out the results.
