My cervix - is this something to worry about?

Hi - my cervix seems to be very low in my vagina. I can feel it really easily and can put my fingers all the way around it. Basically if my cervix were the bottom of a balloon and my vagina were a vase it was sitting in, my cervix would be half way down the vase.

Why is it so low? Is it somehting to be concerned abuout and should I go to my GP?

Shit, I have had four children, I'm 51 and have the same.

It is normal for your cervix to change position throughout your cycle (higher during ovulation and lower around your period). It is always a good idea to see a GP though if your are concerned or if this is a new observation.

Do you? I had no idea as I have no pain or discomfort, but I was putting in a pessary and having a good rummage around and I was like what is this squishy lump and why can I put my finger in some many different directions.

The length of your vagina differs throughout the month, sometimes I can feel mine as it's really low, others it's really high. I'd give it a few days or a week and have another poke around before you worry :)

I only know because I have a prolapse of my cervix. It happened due to an emergency delivery of my DC

It doesn't cause me any problems but makes me feel embarrassed during sex

Oh and wearing a mooncup is not very good neither
Get checked for peace of mind. They told me to do kegel excercises and what not and referred me for physio.
