Canesten pessary

Hi all!

I’m new here. First baby due first week of October.

Throughout my entire pregnant so far I’ve had a white creamy discharge and my midwife told me to ignore it (when I told her about it 4 months ago!) and that it can be normal. No pain, itching, etc.

I’ve had to attend the foetal medicine unit for some extra baby checks though, and they were surprised to hear I’d been told to ignore it and did a swab. Unsurprisingly I had thrush and probably have had all this time. They prescribed a Canesten pessary last week and I got on with proceedings after picking it up as instructed!

Chalky discharge the next day as the packet says to expect. But the problem is the discharge is still there to some extent. Slightly milky, watery, with small clots of white - but slightly better overall. Because I’ve never itched etc, do they need to reswab me to see if the problem has gone perhaps…? Or do I just assume that the pessary worked? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Having never been pregnant before I don’t know what a normal discharge should be be this point…

Thanks in advance 😃

You might need a course of pessaries rather than just 1.
