Are my symptoms perimenopausal..? At 38

I’ve obviously done a fair bit of Googling but wanted others personal experiences.

At 38 I have been experiencing severe anxiety, low mood and have attributed these to a traumatic bereavement. However I am now thinking it could also be something else, poss perimenopausal.

my periods are still regular, although the exact dates alters slightly. They are slightly heavier and more painful than previously but nothing insurmountable (and still only about 5 days).

my main issue is becoming overwhelmed with heat and my face sweating for no apparent reason. I initially put this down to the hot weather however the sweat comes on out of nowhere and generally lasts about 5 mins. I am very self conscious about this. In addition I frequently have v warm hands, to the extent that I can’t bear to wash my hands in anything other than cold water.

I have been reluctant to approach my GP as am receiving support for my bereavement and a newly diagnosed issue, I worry they will think I’m being dramatic!

any shared experiences, especially from people my age would be welcomed - TIA

The flushes sound menopausal. You are quite young so consult your gp for a checkover.

I'm peri menopausal and experienced all those symptoms before starting HRT. That's not to say it definitely is for you too, but it might be. Worth talking to the Dr.

I can’t sleep. Waiting for an urgent breast clinic appointment after finding a lump in my left breast. Having awful sensitivity and nerve pain? Along left side. I’m so scared. I’ve got young children. I just want to be seen by the hospital

Oh yes, peri/menopausal. I didn't have hot flushes as such, but had generally elevated temperature wanting all the windows open when usually I'm the one who feels the cold.

Also, very painful joints. Honestly thought arthritis of some sort had set in. I was on the floor once and it took me about 30 minutes to get up, sobbing in pain the whole time. Spoke to my older sisters about it - 1 had more physio in those years than at any other point in life but hadn't connected it to peri until I asked her about it, and the other sister had put the pain down to a side effect of earlier chemo treatment until our conversation.
