I'm talking since puberty, around age 11. Heavy thick discharge constantly, every single day. I'm now 40 and theres no relief from this except when I'm having a period and use tampons.
I was diagnosed with PCOS at 23 yrs old, which may I add, took a battle. Nobody wanted to know (all male GPs), but I knew things weren't right (and a female stand-in GP finally referred me for a sonograph and blood tests).
But even then, in hearing my diagnosis, I was told there's no need to be upset (male consultant) as it doesn't affect my daily life (the reason I'd battled for this diagnosis was because it DID affect my daily life) and so what if I might not be able to have kids, there's always the IVF route if natural conception doesn't work (2 natural losses, 1 natural success with a very difficult pregnancy and traumatic birth, and my DS has SENs).
Anyway, despite the many different contraception methods used to try and control my PCOS symptoms over the years, the one thing that's never stopped is the heavy daily vaginal discharge. It's so uncomfortable, it's really making me very miserable.
I've been referred for many 'infection' and std tests when I visit the GP for this problem, but when those tests come back clear they just send me away with a 'no action to be taken' verdict. But at 40 yrs old, I'm bloody fed up of it.
Has anyone else here suffered with this problem and got an answer/a cure?
Vaginal dryness seems to be something that's talked about a lot these days, but not the alternative end of the scale.
Unless its just me that suffers this and I'm really odd?
