Stress incontinence

I’m 43, one child. Don’t normally have a problem with stress incontinence. I can run, cough, sneeze, whatever. But I’ve got a terrible chest infection and I’m coughing really violently and it’s making me leak. I’ve had bad chest infections before (since giving birth) but never had this issue. I’m worried that I’m going to have an ongoing problem. I’ve had to ask to work from home and I’ve spent three days sitting on a towel just constantly coughing and pissing. I’m really sore and I stink. It’s degrading and upsetting. Help? 😭

You have my sympathy. A chest infection did wreck my first post lockdown foreign holiday for this reason.
I find getting down on all fours to cough helps lessen the pressure, also leaning forwards helps to some extent.
I’m not terribly good at pelvic floor exercises but do do ‘the cat’ a lot.
It will get better when the coughing has stopped but you need to try to strengthen your pelvic floor.
