If so, how long before the pain stopped after? Would really appreciate hearing anyone's experiences. Thank you.

i haven’t , but I’m currently going through a hellish time with a cystocele and I’ve been referred to urology . Can I ask if it relates to a similar thing ? I had Posted on the general health section but didn’t get any replies sadly. I hope it eases for you soon

Hiya, I have posted elsewhere and got no replies too unfortunately. I was having terrible urethral pain and uti symptoms (since before Christmas) so not linked to the same thing I don't think. Still am but desperately hoping it's the recovery and not that the problem hasn't been resolved. Thank you - really hope yours goes well and you feel much better really soon too :) x

bless you - I am the same sadly! My first thought was a uti but I’m completely clear for any infections too but Im constantly going to the toilet and waking on average anywhere between 2-6 times During the night it’s utterly exhausting! The gp says it’s a bit of cystocele but wasn’t confident so I have to wait until September to see a specialist nurse , thanks for your reply I hope you get some answers soon and some reassurance x

hi. I’ve had two dilations. The second one was last year. I was having to wee every five minutes immediately afterwards, and had a forty minute drive home; so had some Oramorph to get me home. I was a bit more frequent for a couple of days I think.

I’ve had two - the pain first time was horrendous, GP had to come out to house (it was twelve years ago!) to give me an injection of pain relief . Heavy bleeding as well . I think pouring water from a sports cap bottle helped a bit whilst weeing- and drinking a lot of water, and cystitis sachets . It did stop eventually but it was agony at the time .

Second time I think it wasn’t as bad, a bit nippy on the loo after for 48 hours or so - but was more prepared and drank a lot from the moment I came round from the anaesthetic !!

Can I ask how long after you felt better please? I.e. Pain free in that area. Thank you so much for all your replies and hoping you're all well and healed up how 💐

@trtraumahell thank you so much for replying. Do you mind if I ask how long till the pain stopped with your first one? So sorry your experience was so negative - hope it's all okay now 💐

About a week from memory, I think it was the worst for the first three or four days but it was still a bit stingy for about a week . It does eventually settle, but going for a wee was no picnic at all at first . Make sure to ring GP or hospital clinic if it’s not settling as could be a UTI 💕

traumahell · 23/08/2022 12:20

Sorry, forgot I’d changed my name !!!

flowerexpress · 23/08/2022 12:25

@trtraumahell thanks so much for the reply. I'm on nearly 3 weeks now - waiting to hear back from the consultant. Gps kept insisting no infection so couldn't be a uti. Fingers crossed I'm just taking longer to heal! Thanks again
