I had a recall following a routine mammogram last week as they said my breast tissue was too dense to see clearly.
They did an ultrasound to see more clearly and immediately found some cysts.
They aspirated 2 on the left which were fine, aspirated another on the right and then the other one on the right they couldn't aspirate and decided it was a solid lump. They then immediately took 3 biopsies which have been sent off to be checked.
The radiographer was lovely and reassuring that she thinks it's a fibroadenoma but I'm (I suppose naturally) a bit worried. I decided that a week later, I must be ok as they'd be in touch quickly if anything to worry about. However I spoke to someone else today (who I didn't tell my situation to) and she has just gone through similar and it took 2 weeks for her to get the results and it was stage 2 breast cancer.
I'm pretty sure the odds are in my favour but feel better for typing that out.
