Peri menopause anemia

Anyone else had this? I've never been had anemia but now I do

My sister had this after several unusually heavy (scary) periods. She took two iron tablets per day until she felt better and since then she says she's staying on one iron tablet per day indefinitely, because the exhaustion was so hard to live with and she doesn't want to risk a reoccurrence

Im peri menopausal and I have anaemia, I have had it a few times over the years including during pregnancy. I take iron tablets .

The last three years I've also had ridiculously heavy periods. Doctor suggested mirena coil which I declined.
