Anyone use topical oestrogen?

My breast surgeon has advised topical oestrogen (I had oestrogen positive breast cancer 6 years ago). I’ve had a rough menopause thanks to the breast cancer drugs, obviously glad to be alive but it’s been physically and mentally hard.

Currently vaginal atrophy, peeing frequently- actually very frequently, low libido and aching joints are the worst symptoms.

Just wondered if vaginal oestrogen will make much of a difference? Anyone had any experience?

I’ve also had oestrogen positive breast cancer and I use ovestin. I recommend it!
I take anastrazole and it makes all my symptoms worse.
Only thing I would say is that it’s almost impossible to get at the moment. I have some owed from last month’s prescription. Will be interesting to see if I have any this month.

It will definitely help the vaginal atrophy and anything associated with it.

Unfortunately, as it's topical it won't help with joint pain at all.

@Ginisatonic yes I take Anastrazole too, I did 5 years of Tamoxifen first.
I can’t get a GP appointment until 8th September anyway(surgeon wants GP to prescribe it), so hopefully whichever one they prescribe will be available 🤞

It’s a shame it won’t help with joint pain/ aches.
