C Section scar looks sore at 7 weeks

I'm nearly seven weeks postpartum and my c section wound doesn't look/feel healed.

I've been using hibiscrub and that seems to help but I've just had another look in the mirror and it's dark purple with loads of red and purple irritation around the scar.

It looks a bit like folliculitis surround the line of the scar? Like infected pores?

I saw a doctor a week ago but it wasn't as bad then, it seems to flare up if I wear knickers so I've been trying to only wear very loose skirts or shorts without pants. Not hugely practical in long term though!

The doctor said it looked fine and the surrounding irritation is to do with my hair follicles. But there is no other patch of folliculitis so can that be true? It's definitely feeling a bit more painful and inflamed compared to when I saw her...

Also, it's worth noting that I've had a course of antibiotics, flucoxacillin, after calling 111. They didn't see the scar in person, it was prescribed over phone, this was about two weeks ago.

I saw a Dr after that and told them I thought the antibiotics hadn't made a difference. That was when she said she thought it looked fine. But it definitely doesn't look or feel fine to me. If my baby kicks it it hurts and will be weepy/crusty the next day.

Is that normal?

Mine was sore for months, I just kept laying on my back and letting it air.
Even now 5 years on it can smell a bit infected and 'leak' sometimes but it's a closed scar, tis weird 😆

I have had 2 c sections, the last one was 14 years ago. The skin there is a scar so no sweat glands and when it gets hot and sweaty it can get very sore, smelly and irritated. I would recommend big knickers or even mens boxers if it is really sore. Wash every day and really spend ages patting the area dry and letting the air get to it. Once it’s properly healed use some cuticura talc every day to keep the area dry and smooth.
