Ladies, it just happened to pass something like a blood clot, just so unusual … never seen this colour before and is more painful than usual. I wonder if that could have been a very early miscarriage? Apologies for a horrible picture! 🙏

Not sure, but I came on here to find answers as I’ve had something similar but about the length of my finger, did you find out what it was?

RedPandaFluff · 27/08/2022 13:14

I realise the OP is last month but @Pear21 could it be a decidual cast? Have a Google. I saw a thread on this before and it looks similar.

RestingMurderousFace · 27/08/2022 13:30

I had similar recently. Haven’t had sex for over a decade so definitely not a miscarriage. Agree with the poster above, decidual cast. Have you had Covid recently? Apparently they’re being seen more regularly now due to that.

Pear21 · 27/08/2022 23:30

Thanks for replying. I’m not sure. Mine looks similar to the OP but bigger. Also has a kind of ‘harder’ bit that could look fetus shaped it’s hard to tell? Bit shaken by the whole thing. Didn’t think I was pregnant but certainly could have been a possibility. I have had some ‘sickness’ but certainly not everyday and had put it down to another condition. Not sure what to do or think really.

Pear21 · 27/08/2022 23:31

Also don’t think I’ve had covid recently but there’s a possibility my DD did but we didn’t test

RedPandaFluff · 28/08/2022 11:21

Have you done a pregnancy test, @Pear21? Sometimes the pregnancy hormones take a while to fade away after a miscarriage so if you test and get a positive, it might have been a pregnancy.

Hope you're okay, either way Flowers

Pear21 · 28/08/2022 13:57

Thank you. No I haven’t taken a test :(

having some heavy bleeding today though, does that sound like it would happen after a cast or miscarriage?

DoItAfraid · 28/08/2022 14:01

@Pear21 Hi I hope you are ok.

I dont know about decidual casts (am about to head to Google) but what you describe sounds very much like my miscarriage. Yes I bled after the passing of the hardened clot thing.

I think you should preg test and also ring your local EPU and ask if they think you need to be checked over or scanned.

I hope you are ok.

Pear21 · 28/08/2022 16:27

Thank you :(

DoItAfraid · 29/08/2022 11:13

Hi @Pear21 are you ok? 💐

Pear21 · 29/08/2022 13:42

Thanks for replying. I feel like I’ve taken over the original post, sorry OP. I’m ok thanks, still heavy bleeding today and feeling sorry for myself. Talked to OH and we decided not much point to test as with the amount of bleeding - nothing could be done anyway. Hope the original OP is ok too.

It is worth taking a test, occasionally the miscarriage (if it is one) may leave cells behind which may require medical advice.
