Dark thoughts/paranoia before period

Every month about a week before I get really distressing thoughts. Right now I can’t sleep and I’m wide awake with it. They are usually things such as my future and bad things happening to myself or my family. Or things like waking up to bad news or having a house fire. I know it sounds strange but I can’t help it. Half an hour ago I was lying here crying. I know it’s due to my period because I don’t suffer with it apart from the week before and after day 2/3 they go away. Does anyone else suffer with this☹️

How old are you?

I used to get emotional every month, cry at daft things or get angry for a day or two before my period.
Then I hit peri menopause and it turned into a week long, insomnia driven, anxious pit of despair, similar thoughts to what you've described.

Yes, and now I am on depo provera and having no periods it no longer happens and I feel far more mentally stable.

Speak to your Dr, there are things that can help.

Google PMDD. I used to have awful intrusive thoughts the week before my period. Evening primrose oil helped a bit.

Then I felt my depression and anxiety returning. Since taking medication for those the pmdd is much better. So I can only assume that one of those medications helped.

Yes. I often want to kill myself.

I have a Mireya which means my periods are all over the place. Luckily, as soon as I start to get these dark thoughts I know it will be short lived so I tend to warn my husband and son and just ride the storm.

I'm awake too OP angry at the world even though I'm exhausted.

Same last month.

Passes before my period. I only ovulated a couple of months ago.

But last month I was awake daydreaming of running away or suicide. It was very severe and scary.

I've had the implant for about 7 years but recently had it removed as DH had a vasectomy but if this is what natural cycles do to me I think I'll need to go back on BC.
