If I was going to plan a breast reduction surgery for around December time, would I be okay to travel abroad in mid January? Looking for a little more info from anyone who has had this done as I can't get a consultation with my preferred surgeon until October. Thank you.

I had mine done many years ago, was working in a school, operated on the first week of the Easter holidays, and back happily at work after the second week

Thank you, I'm just a little worried about whether long haul travel will be okay so soon after the op I guess.

I had mine years ago. I seem t remember the first week quite sore. I was teaching again after a couple of weeks but it was summer holidays so not back properly got a few more.

I think mid January would be fine, I’m not sure I’d have wanted to do long haul though.

I seem to remember that you can't do heavy lifting. So you'd probably be fine if someone else can carry your bags.

The first part of recovery is very important though (same as with any op). You need to follow instructions to the T and not push it, as that is what would set you back. So I'd say make sure you're not going to be hit by any Christmas rush and allow yourself the time you need for recovery. For me it was more like 2 weeks with the first week being quite intense at times.

It was totally worth it though! Life changing in fact!

Thanks. No bags to carry. Wonder if I can get a week off work before the holidays
