Irregular periods

How long should I track my cycle before trying to speak to a GP about the irregularity of my cycle?

I have noticed for a while that some cycles I only have 18 days between periods and some cycles I have 30 days between periods.

I use an app to track each period and I was expecting my period within the last week so tonight I checked my app. The app shows I am 6 days late.

Going through the history my cycle for the last 6 months has been:

28
30
21
25
26
23
28
28
21
31
34
22

I am currently on day 35 with no symptoms of my period being due to arrive.

I had a smear test in April that was clear. There are no chances of pregnancy.

How long would I need to track before seeing a GP to find out of there is an underlying issue that could be causing this?

According to NHS period cycles 21-40 are classed as 'normal' so not sure they'd think you'd be irregular.

Speak to them though just to see what they say.

How old are you?
Mine have been like this for the last few years and whilst I did have an issue with fibroids which I thought was probably causing it they're still a bit all over the place since they were treated. At the worst I was having a 21-23 day cycle and up to 10 days of bleeding. Since the fibroid treatment they've been longer but just when I thought they might be settling down and had two 28 day cycles I had a 23 day one last month and I feel like this month is going to come early too. I've been putting it down to peri-menopause as i'm 45 now.
