Colposcopy in 2 weeks

I had a smear in 2020 showing HPV positive, no abnormal cells. I was asked to come back a year later but couldn’t due to being pregnant.

I’ve just had my smear as soon as I was allowed to, and it came back as HPV positive again, with low grade abnormal cells.

I’ve been referred for a colposcopy, which of course I’m going to go to but… I’m just so touched out. Between pregnancy checks, birth, smear, the thought of anyone else down there again and examining is really stressing me out. Psychologically I’m just freaking out.

Advice, telling me I’m a silly sausage, all comments welcome. Just feeling really anxious about it all..

I've told this story on here before...

I had colposcopy as a student. The Doctor asked if I minded having a student doctor present, which I didn't.

Guess who I bumped into in a random pub in town that weekend?

Funny thing was, we both thought, "I know you from somewhere", realised how at the same time and made a quick exit in opposite directions.

You'll be fine!

OP you aren't a silly sausage at all. I've had my fair share of folk rummaging around down there recently and my smear is overdue as I'm similar to you with being touched out ❤️ I hope your colposcopy goes OK and tell them how you are feeling about it all

I am freaking out as I had a internal yesterday and the doctor said the cervix is craggy and not healthy looking and has done an urgent referral to hospital. She seemed very concerned and I am convincing myself it's the worst case scenario. I have had strange discharge after period stops last for ages after. I can't sleep and can't stop thinking. I have 3 children and on my own and am terrified.
