Unprotected sex during ovulation morning after pill

I had sex with my husband last night and we used a condom. I can’t take hormonal contraceptives and the coil was a disaster that Ive only just had surgically removed 3 months ago. I genuinely thought we were being responsible. When we finished we couldn’t find the condom. I finally pulled it out of my bum area and it must have got pushed up there near the end, but it was pretty much empty so I think the cum must have got inside. I think the condom wasn’t even on when he came. The chances are high.

This was Saturday night at 11pm. I knew no pharmacy would be open so I ordered the morning after pill from SH24. The issue is I’m either ovulating or just about to because the ovary pain is starting and my discharge is showing the signs. Even if I get the pill on Tuesday morning or go and buy it tomorrow morning it might be too late. I only just found out that the MAP doesn’t work if you have already ovulated… I’m really upset and feel so stupid.

Should I go and buy it tomorrow morning? I don’t even know what to say to pharmacy.. I’ve never been in this situation before and now I’m scared it won’t even work.

Just take it just in case it does work. Although it does say it doesn’t work once ovulation has occurred, it does also say it can prevent implantation

Go and get it tomorrow. It's very straightforward at pharmacies, literally no questions asked. You'll be fine Smile

Contact your GP or a family planning clinic first thing tomorrow morning. It's possible to get a coil fitted up to a few days after as emergency contraception and they can discuss this with you. Take the pill anyway as it might work. Also, for future reference, I don't know where you live but in most reasonably sized towns there will be at least one pharmacist open on a Sunday. They do it on a rota in some areas.
