Horrendous night sweats 3 weeks postpartum

I am 3 weeks postpartum and have been suffering horrendously with night sweats. I remember having it with my 1st but not this bad (and this was in a very hot august )

I am waking up absolutely drenched every night and then I am absolutely freezing from the sweats. All the bedding is absolutely soaking as well.

I am not breastfeeding , although m breasg still leak occasionally

Is this normal ? I'm assuming it's just hormones but it definitely didn't last this long last time .

Is there anything I can do to ease it?

Thank you

Mine stopped after about 5 weeks. I wore as little as possible to bed and changed the sheets a lot. I washed my hair a lot too. It's annoying but it does pass.

I'd say it's normal, they lasted a good six weeks for me and I ended up sleeping on a towel to save the sheets after about two weeks and eleventy billion loads of laundry.

My dc was born in October so I don't think outside temperature has anything to do with it really, I think it's just hormonal in the same way menopausal night sweats are.

I feel your pain, they are horrible :( I had them for 11 weeks - every single bloody night - after I had my DD.
I have no advice I’m afraid, apart from going to sleep on a towel and using another towel as a duvet. It at least meant that I didn’t have to change all the bedding each morning after being up in the night with a baby!
Hopefully as you aren’t breastfeeding they will go once your milk has dropped off a bit. I’m pretty sure they are caused by the hormones (prolactin) you get when the milk comes in
Hope it eases soon for you xx

Thanks all! Seems I will possibly have to put up with it for a few more weeks!

Oh @Strawberry1934 I was the exact same... my little one is now 20 weeks and they're a distant memory! Mine lasted 6/8 weeks and I literally had to throw my pillows etc out as they were ruined 🤢 but it will settle eventually!

My dr said low iron can make them worse so you your iron supplements significantly

I was told drink more. If you wee it it would be less sweat.
