About to have coil fitted and period started

Having the mirena fitted today. I know it's probably not an issue for them but I really don't like to think they are going to have to deal with my blood. It's embarrassing. Reassurance?? Or cancel??

I'd phone them. I'm fairly sure last time I had mine changed they said it's best to be done at a certain point in your cycle when your cervix is softer. I think! Helpfully I can't remember when during your cycle that point is.
